The opening of our store back in 1998 represented the realization of a long-held dream for our founder and owner, Tommy Simpson. Situated in the old Huntley Building Supply location, the store has deep personal significance for Tommy, as Mr. Huntley extending him credit when he was just starting his first construction business was essential in getting his business off the ground.
Years later, when Mr. Huntley offered Tommy the chance to purchase the property, it was the perfect moment for him to realize his dream of owning a hardware store. From the beginning, Tommy’s mission was to provide a store that addresses the specific needs of the local community. Tommy drew on his decades of experience as a contractor, in addition to input from the local community to shape the store’s design, layout, and product mix.
Our 18,000 plus square feet of retail space plus 10,000 square foot lumber warehouse and big, beautiful, lush garden center have provided our loyal customers with the perfect combination of old-fashioned values and service with state-of-the-art products.
Which brings us to today, as Tommy’s vision for the future has led him to make the decision to transition the store to “Beaufort Hardware & Paint Company”, so that our store layout, product mix and service are not reflective of a big national corporation or big box store but continue to be loyal to the core values that we have held from the beginning-being an invaluable resource for our local community through supplying the products needed in the Hardware and Paint categories, as well as a team of employees who continue to provide exemplary service.
We invite you to come and visit us today and experience our unique and extensive mix of products along with the old-fashioned values and service that has led our local community to support us for all these decades. We are driven to continue to earn the privilege of serving you in the years to come!
